What is a Messianic?

Author // Mason Clover

So as I sit in the STL airport for my 3 hour layover on my way to Tulsa, OK for two worship events this weekend I decided to catch up on some reading.  I am not a normal person so I went to dictionary.com and typed in Messianic.  Here is what I got:

messianic

Some may find this funny, some may be upset, some no real feeling either way.  To me I focused on the fact that there was ZERO definition for a Messianic in our english language.  So I went to the Hebrew dictionary online to check Messianic as well and got "primarily means Messiah."  If there is no real earthly definition for what is a Messianic, why do we feel we need to create these labels?  Why do we feel we need to create a box.  Who I was a year ago is not who I am today, and I pray I am not the same a year from now.  Our "religious" walk should not be one that is a one time definition.  It should be one that is every changing, as the Father constantly molds us like clay.  Messiah with the Law is just as empty at the Law without Messiah.  It is like having a Mom and no Dad, or a Dad with no Mom.  Abba created things perfectly.  Who are we to make them ours?  No definition to me is exciting because it means I can be a canvas of every changing growth, drawing more blessings from obedience to the law, while rejoicing in the everlasting salvation found in Messiah.  So as I sit here next to this guy who thinks I am nuts for getting a kick out of these little studies I rejoice in the smae things, and praise for everything!

Amein! I agree. I adhere to no label. I desire to obey the Torah where and how it applies to me and walk as Master Yahshua walked in "the way" we are to go. Shabbat Shalom!
